Terms of service
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Yapflip is a Fersify.com service operated by 3-101-912163 S.A. ("Fersify", "we", "us"), a corporation (sociedad anónima) registered in Costa Rica, with its address at Residencial La Carpintera 5L, La Unión, Cartago 30304, Costa Rica. These terms are a contract between you and us. By creating an account or using Yapflip you agree to them, to our privacy policy and to the section below for your region. Your region is set by the country you sign up from, which we detect from your connection. If we got it wrong, write to [email protected].
Questions: [email protected]. Help with your account or a dub: [email protected]. Legal notices: [email protected]. Phone: +506 8346 3461.
The service
Yapflip transcribes, translates and dubs audio and video between the languages listed on our site. You choose a voice from our library or your own voice. We return the dubbed audio or video, subtitles and a transcript. All of this runs on Fersify's own servers.
The results are generated by AI and can have mistakes in transcription, translation, timing or pronunciation. Review them before you publish. We do not change lip movement in videos. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering Yapflip, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before and refund the paid balance you have not used.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older, and old enough to sign a contract where you live.
- Give a real email address and your real country. The country decides which regional section of these terms applies to you.
- One account per person. Keep your sign-in codes and your email account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- If you use Yapflip for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.
Prices and balance
- Individual accounts are pay as you go, with no subscription (company plans are in "Yapflip Business" below). You add prepaid balance of USD 5, 10 or 25 through Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to each purchase, and Paddle may add sales tax or VAT at checkout. Balance does not expire.
- A dub costs USD 0.07 per minute with a library voice and USD 0.25 per minute with your own voice, charged by the second of your original file with a 30-second minimum. You see the exact price before you confirm.
- Each dub includes one free round of up to 10 word fixes. Later fixes cost USD 0.08 per change. You see the price before you confirm.
- If you choose to check the script before the voice is recorded, the dub is charged when you start it, like any other dub. Checking and fixing the script is free, and the free round of word fixes still applies after the dub. If you discard the script, or do not confirm it within 24 hours of your upload, we delete the file and do not refund the charge. We only return the charge of a dub that fails, or that we cancel, because of a problem on our side.
- New accounts get 10 free minutes with a library voice, once per person. Free minutes have no cash value. We may withhold them if we see repeated sign-ups by the same person.
- If a dub or a fix fails because of a problem on our side, we return its charge to your balance.
- We may change prices for the future. Dubs you already confirmed keep their price, and we will email you at least 14 days before any price increase.
Refunds
- You can get a refund of the unused part of a top-up within 14 days of buying it, for any reason. Use the "Withdraw from contract here" button next to the top-up on your billing page, write to [email protected] from your account email, or ask Paddle. The money goes back to your original payment method through Paddle.
- Balance spent on a dub that was delivered is not refundable, because you asked us to make it right away. If a delivered dub has a defect caused by us, write to support and we will redo it or return its charge.
- After 14 days, unused balance is not refundable, except where the law of your country requires it or these terms say otherwise.
- Free minutes and affiliate rewards moved to your balance are never paid out as cash.
- If you delete your account, any unused balance is lost. Ask for your refund first if you are still within the 14 days.
- If you open a chargeback, we may pause your account until the bank or Paddle resolves it.
- If you live in Brazil, Quebec, the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your regional section below also explains your legal right to withdraw.
Your content
- You keep all rights to what you upload and to the files we make for you.
- You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, including any music, images, people and voices in it.
- You let us process your content only to provide the service to you, and to delete it on the schedule in our privacy policy. We do not use your content or your voice to train AI models, and we do not add your voice to our library.
- You are responsible for your content and for how you use the results. If someone makes a claim against us because your content or your use of Yapflip broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law of your country allows.
Cloning a voice
- You may only clone your own voice, or the voice of someone who gave you written permission to clone it for this use. For a person under 18, you need written permission from a parent or guardian.
- Before we receive a voice sample, you confirm whose voice it is and that you are 18 or older. We keep a record of that confirmation with its date, time and IP address.
- Keep the owner's permission while you use the dub, and show it to us if we ask.
- A sample is used only for the dub you ordered. You give a new sample and a new confirmation for each dub.
Telling people it is AI
Speech made with Yapflip is synthetic. When you publish a dub, label it as AI-generated or altered wherever the law or the platform requires it (for example, the synthetic content labels on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram). Never present a dub as a real recording of what a person said in a way that could mislead people. The audio, voice and video files we deliver carry metadata that says they are AI-generated, and the transcript document says that the translation and voice were generated with AI. Do not remove these or any other AI notices where the law requires them.
In the European Union, the AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, article 50) requires anyone who uses an AI system for work or business and publishes audio or video that resembles real people and could falsely seem authentic (a "deep fake") to disclose that it was artificially generated or manipulated. A dub that speaks with the voice of a real person can be one. If that applies to you, say so clearly when you publish it.
What you may not do
- Clone or imitate a voice without its owner's consent, including the voices of public figures, politicians and celebrities.
- Make sexual content of real people, any content that sexualizes minors, or intimate images of anyone without their consent.
- Make content for harassment, threats, hate, fraud, scams, impersonation or election disinformation.
- Use a dub to deceive someone into believing a real person said something they did not say.
- Upload content you do not have the rights to, or content that breaks the law where you live.
- Break, overload, reverse engineer or resell the service, or get around its limits, prices or free minutes.
- Use Yapflip from a country or region where we cannot sell (see "Your region"), or for a person or company on a sanctions list.
We may remove content, refuse a dub, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. People at Fersify make these decisions; we do not use automated tools to decide on content or accounts. When we do this, we tell you by email what we restricted, why, and how to contest it: reply to that email or write to [email protected], and a person reviews your reply. If we close your account because you broke the rules, you lose your unused balance unless the law of your country says otherwise. If we close your account for any other reason, we refund the paid balance you have not used.
Reporting abuse
If something made with Yapflip uses your voice without consent, includes an intimate image of you shared without your consent, or infringes your copyright, use our report form. To report any other content you believe is illegal, write to [email protected] with where it is and why it is illegal. You don't need an account. Each report gets a reference number. Files on Yapflip are private to the account that uploaded them.
When a report qualifies, we delete the content and any identical copies we know of from Yapflip, and we aim to do it within 48 hours of receiving a complete report. We can also close the accounts involved. We will write to the email address in your report to tell you what we did, or why we did not act. We cannot remove copies that someone published on other sites.
Copyright (DMCA)
Our designated agent for notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act is:
- Copyright Agent, 3-101-912163 S.A.
- Residencial La Carpintera 5L, La Unión, Cartago 30304, Costa Rica
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone: +506 8346 3461
- U.S. Copyright Office directory registration: DMCA-1084710
You can also use the report form. A notice must include your signature, the work you say was copied, where the infringing material is in Yapflip, your contact details, a statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you own the right or may act for its owner.
If we remove your content after a notice and you think it was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include your signature, what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal courts. We forward it to the person who sent the notice. We will restore the content within 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice, unless that person tells us they filed a lawsuit about it. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Library voices
Library voices are synthetic. Our engine uses a short clip of an open recording as a reference and speaks new text. Dubs do not contain the recordings used as references, and we do not license dubs under Creative Commons. No attribution is required in your files. You may use dubs made with library voices for commercial purposes. Do not present a library voice as the voice of the person in the original recording. The data sets we use as references are listed on our voice credits page.
Affiliate program
- When someone signs up with your link, you earn USD 2.50 for every USD 50 they spend on dubs and fixes during their first 12 months. Free minutes do not count.
- Each reward is on hold for 30 days and can then move to your Yapflip balance. Payouts by PayPal or gift card use rewards older than 60 days, have a minimum amount and are reviewed before we send them.
- If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the rewards it earned are canceled, and we may take back rewards you already received.
- You may not refer yourself, use fake accounts, run paid ads on our brand name or send spam. We may cancel rewards that break these rules and close the affiliate account.
- You are responsible for taxes on your rewards. If you are in the U.S. and receive more than USD 600 in a calendar year through PayPal or gift cards, we ask for a W-9 form before paying you.
- We may change or end the program for the future. Rewards you earned before the change stay yours.
Yapflip Business (company plans)
This section applies when you create or join a company on Yapflip Business. It adds to the rest of these terms and, where they differ, it prevails for the company plan.
- Business customers only. The plan is for companies and professionals acting for their business, not for consumers. Whoever creates the plan confirms that they can accept these terms for the company. The consumer rights in these terms, including the 14-day refund of top-ups and the right to withdraw in your regional section, do not apply to the company plan, except where the law says they cannot be excluded.
- Monthly minimum. The plan costs USD 50 per month plus taxes, charged in advance through Paddle at the start of each billing period. Those USD 50 are usage for that period. Usage you don't use does not carry over and is not refunded.
- Rates. Dubs billed to the plan cost USD 0.06 per minute with a library voice and USD 0.22 per minute with your own voice, by the second of the original file with a 30-second minimum per dub. Paid word fixes cost USD 0.08 per change. Free sign-up minutes and prepaid balance are not used for dubs billed to the plan.
- Usage over the minimum. When a billing period closes, we charge the usage above USD 50 for that period as a one-time charge on the same Paddle subscription, to the payment method on file, plus taxes. If a dub or a fix fails because of a problem on our side, its charge is taken off the usage of that period, or of the next one if that period was already closed.
- Monthly limit. Each company has a monthly usage limit, USD 300 to start. When usage reaches it, we don't accept new dubs or paid fixes until the next billing period. We can change the limit when the company asks. What we charge over the minimum never goes past the limit.
- Dubs at a time. Up to 3 dubs of a company run at the same time, or the number we agree with the company. The rest wait in line and start on their own when one finishes. A dub is charged when it is started, also while it waits.
- People and roles. A company can have any number of people. Owners invite and remove people, manage billing and see usage by person. Members dub. Each person's dubs and files stay private to that person, and each person is responsible for what they upload, under these terms.
- If Paddle can't collect a payment, we pause new dubs until it is paid. Dubs already running finish.
- Cancellation. Owners can cancel from the Business page. The plan stays active until the end of the paid billing period. New dubs stop shortly before it ends, and usage above the minimum in that last period is charged before the plan ends. We may end the plan with 30 days' notice, or right away if the company breaks these terms or doesn't pay.
- Data processing. For personal data in the files the company uploads, we act as a processor for the company. A data processing agreement (DPA) is available on request at [email protected].
- We may change the plan's prices and these conditions for future periods, with 30 days' notice by email to the owners.
API
- Any account can create API keys. A key acts for your account: keep it secret and revoke it if it leaks. You are responsible for what is done with your keys.
- Dubs made through the API are charged and limited the same way as dubs from the dashboard, from your balance or from your company plan.
- Discarding a script through the API, or letting it expire without confirming it, does not refund the charge, the same as in the dashboard.
- To use a person's own voice through the API, you must get from the voice owner the same written consent that the dashboard asks for, with the exact text and version published in our API documentation, and send it with the request. We keep it as proof. You must keep your own record of that consent and show it to us if we ask.
- Consumers in the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom confirm through the API, for each paid dub or paid fix, that they ask us to start right away, as in the dashboard.
- Each key and account has request limits, listed in the API documentation. We may suspend a key that is used in a way that harms the service or breaks these terms.
Disclaimers and liability
We provide Yapflip as it is and as available. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free or fit for a specific purpose, to the extent the law allows us to say so.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim about Yapflip is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100. These limits do not apply to fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury, or to any liability the law of your country does not allow us to limit.
Disputes
If you have a problem, write to [email protected] first. Most problems get solved there. If one is not solved within 30 days, either of us can take the next step in this section or in your regional section.
If you live in the United States, the United States section below decides which law governs and where disputes are resolved. Everywhere else, the laws of Costa Rica govern these terms, and the courts of San José, Costa Rica, decide disputes about them, unless your regional section says otherwise. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law of the country where you live that cannot be waived by contract.
Your region
Yapflip is open to people in every country, except where international sanctions or our payment provider do not let us sell. Today those places are: Afghanistan, Belarus, Central African Republic, Congo - Kinshasa, Cuba, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Mali, Myanmar (Burma), Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe, and the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine. We cannot open accounts for people who live there. If the section for your region conflicts with the rest of these terms, the regional section wins.
United States
Please read this section carefully. It says that you and we will resolve most disputes through individual arbitration instead of in court, and that you and we give up class actions and jury trials. You can opt out within 30 days.
- Governing law. These terms involve commerce between the United States and a foreign country. The Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq., governs this arbitration agreement, including the class action waiver. Where the Federal Arbitration Act does not apply, the laws of the State of Delaware govern these terms, without its conflict of laws rules. The laws and courts of Costa Rica do not apply to you. The consumer protection laws of your state that cannot be waived by contract also apply.
- Notice first. Before starting an arbitration, send a written notice with your name, account email, the problem and what you want to [email protected]. We will send ours to your account email. For 60 days, both of us will try in good faith to resolve the dispute. During those 60 days, the time limits to bring the claim are paused.
- Arbitration. Any dispute about Yapflip or these terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, when they apply, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules. The arbitrator decides whether a dispute must be arbitrated, except that a court decides questions about the class action waiver, public injunctive relief and the "Many similar claims" paragraph. A single arbitrator decides. The hearing is by video or based on documents, or in person in the county where you live if you ask for it. We pay all AAA and arbitrator fees except your filing fee, and we reimburse that fee if you win. The arbitrator can award relief only to you individually. If the AAA does not administer the arbitration, we agree on another administrator in good faith, or a court appoints an arbitrator under 9 U.S.C. § 5.
- Exceptions. Either of us can bring an individual claim in small claims court instead. Either of us can go to court to stop the misuse of intellectual property or of a person's voice or likeness.
- No class actions. You and we may bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective or representative action. YOU AND WE WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.
- Public injunctive relief. You do not give up any right to seek public injunctive relief. If a request for it cannot be arbitrated, a court in the county where you live decides it after the arbitration of the other claims ends, and the court case is paused until then.
- Many similar claims. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against us or by us, and they are coordinated by the same lawyers or organization, the AAA Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules apply, and both sides will consider a global mediation in good faith. Each claim is still decided individually, and no decision binds any other claimant.
- If part is invalid. If a court finds that the class action waiver cannot be enforced for a claim, only that claim goes to court. The other claims stay in arbitration.
- Opt out. You can reject this arbitration agreement within 30 days after you first accept these terms by emailing [email protected] from your account email with your name and a clear statement that you opt out. If you opt out, or if a claim is not arbitrated, the state or federal courts for the county where you live decide it.
- Changes. If we change this section, you can reject the change within 30 days by writing to [email protected]. The version you accepted before keeps applying to you.
- California. Residents of California can contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
Canada
The arbitration section for the United States does not apply to you. You can bring a claim in the courts of your province or in San José, Costa Rica, and the consumer protection law of your province applies. If you live in Quebec, the next section also applies.
Quebec
These terms are published in French, and in Quebec the French version is the one we give you first and the one that prevails (Charter of the French language, section 55). The Consumer Protection Act (CQLR, chapter P-40.1) applies to you and prevails over any term to the contrary in these terms. Under that Act, no term limits your right to go to court or to join a class action, and the limits of liability in "Disclaimers and liability" do not apply where the Act forbids them. The Act's rules on distance contracts, including your right to cancel in the cases it sets out, also apply. You can bring a claim in the courts of Quebec and contact the Office de la protection du consommateur.
Latin America
These terms are also published in Spanish, and for you the Spanish version prevails. The consumer protection law of your country applies to your purchases and cannot be waived by these terms. Where that law gives you the right, you can bring a claim before your national consumer protection authority or the courts of the place where you live. Otherwise, the courts of San José, Costa Rica, decide.
Brazil
- These terms are published in Portuguese, and for you the Portuguese version prevails. The Consumer Defense Code (Law 8,078/1990, CDC) applies to you and prevails over any term to the contrary in these terms.
- Right to withdraw (direito de arrependimento). You can withdraw from a top-up within 7 days of buying it, without giving a reason (CDC, article 49). Use the "Withdraw from contract here" button on your billing page or write to [email protected]. We refund the amounts you paid for that top-up right away, through Paddle, to your original payment method.
- The limits of liability in "Disclaimers and liability" apply only as far as the CDC allows. You can bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live, or file a complaint with the Procon of your state.
European Union and European Economic Area
- If you live in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway and use Yapflip as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country apply to you, and you can bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away, including the limits of liability in "Disclaimers and liability", which apply only as far as your law allows.
- Right of withdrawal. You can withdraw from a top-up within 14 days of the day you bought it, without giving a reason. To withdraw, use the "Withdraw from contract here" button next to the top-up on your billing page, or send us a clear statement by email to [email protected]. You can use the model form below, but you do not have to. You only need to send your withdrawal before the 14 days end. We confirm it by email.
- When you withdraw, we refund the payment for that top-up within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, through Paddle, with the same payment method you used, at no cost to you. We do not refund the part of the balance you already spent on dubs or word fixes, for this reason: before each dub starts, we ask you to agree that we start it right away, during the withdrawal period, and to confirm that you know you lose the right to withdraw from that dub, and from the word fixes you order for it, once it starts. We then confirm that by email. If you do not agree, the dub does not start.
- Legal guarantee. Yapflip is a digital service and delivers digital content. You have the legal guarantee of conformity of your country's law (Directive (EU) 2019/770). If a dub does not conform, write to support and we will redo it, or reduce the price or refund it, as that law provides.
- Model withdrawal form. To: 3-101-912163 S.A. (Yapflip), Residencial La Carpintera 5L, La Unión, Cartago 30304, Costa Rica, [email protected]. I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: Yapflip top-up of (amount), ordered on (date). Name of the consumer: (name). Email of the account: (email). Address of the consumer: (address). Date: (date).
Digital Services Act. Yapflip stores the files you upload for you and does not publish them. Under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, our single point of contact for the authorities of the Member States, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services is [email protected], and for users it is [email protected]. You can write to us in English, Spanish, French or Portuguese. To notify us of illegal content, use the "Reporting abuse" section above: we confirm receipt, decide without undue delay and tell you our decision and how to contest it. How we moderate content and accounts, and how to contest a decision, is explained in "What you may not do".
United Kingdom
- If you live in the United Kingdom and use Yapflip as a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the other consumer protection rules of the United Kingdom apply to you, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, wherever you live. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including the limits of liability in "Disclaimers and liability".
- Right to cancel. You can cancel a top-up within 14 days of the day you bought it, without giving a reason (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), in the same way, with the same refund and the same model form as in the European Union section above. Before each dub starts, we ask you to agree that we start it right away and to confirm that you lose the right to cancel that dub, and the word fixes you order for it, once it starts. We do not refund the balance already spent on them.
- Your statutory rights for digital content and services apply: if a dub is faulty, write to support and we will redo it or refund it as the law provides.
Switzerland
If you live in Switzerland, the mandatory consumer protection rules of Swiss law apply to you, and as a consumer you can bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live. Swiss law does not give a general right to withdraw from online purchases, but our 14-day refund of the unused part of a top-up applies to you as to everyone.
Everywhere else
These terms apply as written, together with the consumer protection rules of your country that cannot be waived by contract. Paddle, as merchant of record, charges and pays the sales tax, VAT or GST of your country on each top-up. Where your law gives you a right to withdraw or a longer refund period, we honor it.
General
- We may update these terms. If a change matters, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can stop using Yapflip and we refund the paid balance you have not used. Changes required by law can apply sooner.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Yapflip, and we will tell you if we do. You may not transfer your account.
- These terms are published in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. All versions have the same legal value. When you sign up, we show you the version in the language of your country. If the versions differ, that version prevails for you: French in Quebec and in French-speaking countries, Portuguese in Brazil and in Portuguese-speaking countries, Spanish in Latin America and Spain, and English everywhere else.
